Sexual Selection and Trust Games
(Ph.D Psychology) funded by EPSRC DTG
Social perception of facial trustworthiness and decisions to trust in economic games are biased by facial cues such as attractiveness and self-similarity. I present evidence that trust and reciprocation decisions in trust games are biased by mechanisms resulting from sexual selection. Trust and reciprocation decisions (related to facial characteristics) are measurably biased by mate choice, mating display, and mating competition considerations.
